Gary Tunstall

Gary Tunstall grew up in Hampstead, London. A Gunners fan and always eager for a challenge, Gary practiced a variety of sports, from basketball to field hockey and football. This schooled him the importance of teamwork and discipline – both traits that were key when he joined the ranks in professional kitchens over 20 years ago.

As trainers and teammates were replaced by pots and fellow cooks, Gary’s curiosity and willingness to expand his horizons led him to travel far and wide on a mission to experience and learn from different cultures and flavours around the world. A Londoner at heart, Gary ran multiple kitchens in East London, from Shane’s on Chatsworth (an airy, industrial-chic eatery for British game, fish and locally foraged ingredients) to A Game of Bones, where he serves pub food with a chef’s touch.

A creative cook, Gary thoroughly enjoys every opportunity to plan and add long lists of dishes and recipes to his repertoire. From his passion for game (deer, hare and pigeon rank amongst his personal favourites), to Asian cuisine, barbecue specials, canapés for cocktail receptions and cakes for festive occasions, Chef Gary is ready to delight you and your guests with a soulful food experience at your private venue, personalised to your preferences and food requirements.
