The history and the path of Chef João Ferrão is a serious case of dedication, passion and hard work. After several years in the area of commercial management, at the age of 37 and colliding with the birth of her second daughter, he decided to dedicate himself to his true vocation: gastronomy.

He liked his first cooking course so much, with Fausto Airoldi, so he never looked back. From there he went directly to the restaurant Feitoria * (1 Michelin star) under the command of Chef José Cordeiro, having built his own road, step by step, in Altis Avenida Hotel, whose restaurant he came to lead. His success did not go unnoticed by Grupo Pestana, who invited João to lead the brigade of the famous Cozinha Velha.

Feeling the need to learn and experience other gastronomic realities, he left for London where he was Sous-Chef under Chef Anthony Marshall at London Hilton Park Lane, a famous hotel in the British capital where he fell in love with the fusion cuisine. In this regard, he says: "I have bases and techniques of French and Portuguese cuisine and a passion for Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine."

After returning to Portugal to be with his family, he opened the restaurant of Upon Lisbon Prime Residences as Executive Chef, after which he began to dedicate himself to another great passion - to teach young aspiring Chefs - an activity that reconciles with gastronomic consulting and with the experiences he offers at the homes of Supper Stars customers.
