Catarina Goya
Catarina always liked pots and pans and at the age of nine, she was already cooking for her brothers. Though, it was on her arrival in London that she decided to dedicate herself to professional cooking and specialize in oriental cuisine. She worked for three years at the Michelin-starred Yauatcha*, a restaurant famous for its Dim Sum, where she had her first contact with this captivating and surprising dish. Since then, she has been passionately dedicated to the Dim Sum and Southeast Asian cuisine. A passion that has led her to learn traditional techniques of masters in this art, gastronomy experts from Singapore and to study the history and evolution of these rich Cantonese traditions that have captivated the Western world.
On this trip, Chef Catarina Goya became involved in traditional and modern techniques, making classic and contemporary recipes. She also starts developing her own recipes, presenting a signature cuisine. As a result of her gastronomic trips to the different countries of Asia, the Chef also incorporates in her repertoire different recipes of typical dishes of Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam and Thailand.
With all the experience and knowledge that she has brought from her trips, Catarina returned to Brazil - her country - to present this culinary treasure, opening one of the first Dim Sum bars and organizing private parties and dinners focused on these delights.
Currently, she divides her time between Portugal and Spain, where again she wants to share her enthusiasm for these Cantonese delights, which she prepares from scratch, i.e. from the homemade pasta to the filling, always faithful to her three fundamental values: delicacy, taste, and beauty.
So let yourself be carried away by a sensory journey full of exotic flavors, experience, knowledge, and passion, at the hands of Chef Catarina.
